Brighton & Hove Albion vs Watford Prediction (08-02-2020)
There’s no doubt that Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford are in the middle of a relegation dogfight at the moment. Is this a relegation six pointer? It’s certainly not far off.
Despite the fact that Brighton sit 15th in the table and two points above the drop while Watford are 19th, two points away from safety, Watford are arguably in a better shape at the moment. Brighton ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the reverse fixture back in August at the start of this season. It’d be a surprise if it was anything like that this time around.
Brighton are without a Premier League win since December the 28th, form that has seen them plummet from a comfortable mid table position to being in the danger they are in now. Their comeback against West Ham at the weekend was as crucial as it was impressive. Defeat to Watford puts them in deep trouble.
Watford have seen a resurgence in form since the appointment of Nigel Pearson, a run of form that has brought them from no hopers to being right back in contention to avoid the drop. They will need to shake off the thoughts of a potentially damaging defeat against Everton at the weekend where they threw away a two goal lead.
One thing that should be guaranteed in this one is goals. Between them, the two sides saw 11 goal in their fixtures last week, much of it through abject defending. Both teams to score should be a solid punt on this one. A result in this one is simply impossible to call. Go for an away win if you’re feeling brave.
